Tom Conran's Westbourne Park eatery is about as far away from his father's showy establishments as it's possible to get. Well, apart from the emphasis on fresh crustaceans! The Cow is always busy, the seafood is fabulous and the Guinness is some of the best kept in town. Definitely worth a visit.

Every dish on of the moment chef Brett Graham's Modern French menu is a serious read, with skills honed as sous-chef under Philip Howard at The Square. The combination of flavours are sublime, and the attention to detail is like nothing Notting Hill has seen before. Wines by the bottle or glass are stunning if not cheap, though the total bill (around £130 for two) is softened by both service and cooking being near faultless.

A local restaurant with a loyal following, Notting Grill is the creation of TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson. The cooking is hearty, with plenty of red meat on the menu and some tempting reds to match.

Gastro Pub with a good selection of beers, wines and an excellent Mediterranean themed menu. Reasonably priced, there is always a good atmosphere in The Prince, whether for day time chilling or a lively evening. Be warned, the music really thumps on a Friday and Saturday night.

The Wine Factory keeps it simple, with a few tables inside and out, but the food is always delectable and the wine is a steal. Try a thin and crispy Pizza, aubergine and goats cheese is our facourite, and the spicy chicken salad is a winner. The wine is a steal at £7 upwards.
